Marcus McDonough is a Certified Massage Therapist by the California Massage Therapy Council and a Certified Fascial Stretch TherapistTM and Life StretchTM Instructor by the Stretch To Win Institute. He is the owner of Pacific Motion Bodywork, a therapeutic massage and bodywork practice located in Santa Cruz and Los Gatos, California. Marcus received his bachelor’s degree from Capital University in Health and Psychology, attended massage school at Ascete Massage Training Center and Cypress Health Institute and performed his specialty training in deep tissue, sports massage, myofascial release and fascial stretch therapy from Bay Area College of Nursing, Kinesis Myofascial Integration and the Stretch To Win Institute. A locally respected practitioner in pain management and performance care Marcus offers treatment to athletes in search of rehabilitation of injured muscles and joints and those wanting to maintain and/or increase their performance.
Marcus started his quest to bring an alternative approach to pain management after dealing with chronic ankle injuries, shoulder injuries and low back pain during his collegiate football career. His mission is to transform the way individuals approach pain and restore hope for healing and optimal health. Marcus focuses on developing and implementing alternative solutions to treating acute and chronic pain by drawing from scientific fascia research, massage and soft tissue manipulation, dynamic holistic stretching, exercise programs, stress management techniques and martial arts.
Marcus lives in Santa Cruz, Ca. where he enjoy’s surfing, exploring, hiking, fishing, weightlifting, mushroom foraging, martial arts, yoga, dance and enjoying the bountiful local organic food!
