Grace Ku is an artist, author, wellness practitioner, student, and teacher. She was featured in Santa Cruz Sentinel. What makes her heart sing is to witness kindness amongst people. She grew up in Taiwan and Fiji Islands, and moved to the US when she was 16 years old. The multi-cultural experience opened her eyes to appreciate the unique beauty in each individual.

In her teens she was fascinated about Zen, the benefits of meditation, acupressure, massage, herbal medicine and nature. She wanted to combine art with wellness practices; where everyone can be honored for who they are, unwind tension, and ground their energy. Years later, she graduated from Academy of Art University, became a freelance graphic designer, a National Ayurvedic Medical Association certified health counselor, licensed massage therapist and a certified yoga instructor.

In 2008, she joined Google’s massage program and was later promoted to operations and people manager. Despite her busy schedule, she finds time to continue her education to stay informed in myofascial, mental and digestive health. She will begin her degree in Doctor of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in September 2023. She would be honored to support you on your wellness journey with bodywork therapy, diet, and lifestyle coaching.

Grace brings a soothing calmness and expertise to every session.  No matter what’s up with my body, whether it’s tightness from climbing training, strain from long work hours, or fatigue from emotional stress, Grace always figures out just what is needed — even if I can’t express it myself.  During the session she is precise yet caring, carefully modulating pressure in every situation to be effective but comfortable.  I arrive with my body in all sorts of disarray, and leave both rejuvenated as well as equipped with the tools I need to further improve my well-being.  She puts in the extra effort to identify and explain the nature and causes of all my aches, tensions, and postures, and works with me to improve my self-care.  Grace exemplifies the healing potential of bodywork.

David, Hardware Engineer

I worked with Grace at Google for 7.5 years and as massage therapist in the Health & Performance Department. I knew her work personally because I came to her for regular sessions, sometimes waiting over 1 month to get onto her schedule. Each session she listened compassionately to what ailed me, assessed my condition with the utmost care and performed techniques that improved my mental and physical wellness to such a degree that I felt truly transformed by the session. Prior to working with Grace I did not really enjoy myofascial massage because I found it uncomfortable, but there was nothing uncomfortable about Grace’s work. It is profoundly healing and I love the CranioSacral work that she uses to round out the sessions. As one of the top therapists I worked with I trusted her completely for myself and as a referral to my clients when I was unavailable.

Amalia, Licensed Acupuncturist and Massage therapist

Over the decade and a half that Grace has been my massage therapist, she has been consistently diligent in her work.  She always asks me about the state of my body at the beginning of every session.  She listens to my concerns and formulates a plan to address them.  She remembers and tracks changes in my body such as muscle tone across sessions.

I rock climb excessively and at a very high intensity: six days a week, nearly every week.  Grace’s massages have greatly contributed to making this extreme activity level feel sustainable. Grace is an amazing conversationalist and provides a good mix of conversation and quiet relaxation time when giving massages.
